Eleanor or Elinor

Post by Elliottfrisy »

I have seen both names used for this song. Which is the right spelling?

On the Footsteps album the title is given as "Eleanor". Where did you see the other spelling?

On a related note, The Turtles, who coincidentally were the first artists to record a Bob Lind composition, did a song called "Elenore" (sic). (It's a completely different song.) It's the only time I have ever seen the name spelt that way.

On the Photographs Of Feeling vinyl album it's spelled Elinor.

Hey Bob Numbers - check out the movie "The Boat That Rocked" for a resounding version of the Turtles' "Elenore".

I don't call it anything - I Just Let It Take Me."
