I have always been a lover primarily of great melodies rather than great lyrics, but in bob Lind's songs you get both. For lyrics I still think Elusive Butterfly is hard to beat:

You might have seen me running
through the long-abandoned ruins of the dreams you left behind

It doesn't get any better than that.
