For many of us, Finding You Again was the most awaited release of 2012. This year, however, there was no new album from Mr Lind, so he is not a contender.
I have bought quite a lot of music this year, but most of it dates from before 2013, some of it by a good many years. In 2013 however for me the highlight releases were
(1) Midnight Juggernauts - Uncanny Valley
I have mentioned this band and album before on the forum - a Melbourne electronic trio who make danceable music that is several orders of magnitude better than most dance music.
(2) Steven Wilson - The Raven That Refused to Sing (and Other Stories)
This was Prog Magazine's album of the year. Not a flawless album, a little patchy, but the good songs are very good. Each of the songs is some kind of ghost story. Try these for size:

The videos are kind of clever, too.

Re: What was great for you in 2013?
I'm always rediscovering old music - like, my wife recently turned on to First Aid Kit, a Swedish duo who were turning heads in 2009, came out with an album in 2012...
