Would Bob cover Pulp?

I'd sort of like to hear a cover of Bob Lind by Pulp by Bob Lind, although it would be a shock to hear you swearing in a song, perhaps change the lyric to "mess up" or "screw up"?

Somehow I don't think covers are your thing, but I can dare to dream...

(also I'm sorry that all my posts come back to Pulp)

It's a good song, but to me it resembles Bob's early songs much more than it does his later work. It seems to have been inspired in particular by Truly Julie's Blues.

Swearing? I don't think that's the problem, so much as the fact that Bob would have to decide whether to emulate Jarvis Cocker's rather strong accent when pronouncing the F-word, which would sound a little contrived, or whether to use his own natural accent, which would also sound a bit wrong to someone accustomed to hearing Pulp's version.

What WOULD be interesting, if Bob were ever to appear on stage again with Jarvis Cocker and his band-mates, would be to hear them perform the song together.

I feel like I'd need to hear Bob sing it to decide if it actually does sound like a Bob Lind song. I'm not entirely convinced right now.

If he decided to sit down with his guitar one day and record a quick demo then post it on this site (hint, hint, hint) that would be cool!

(and he could do a cheeky cover of The Birds In Your Garden while he was on!)

I'll second this motion: Lind to cover Bob Lind.

Or even do it as a duet.

Is a petition the next step??

Don't get me started on petitions...

But a duet. I like it. Even better; they could write a song together, they could write an album together, they could form a supergroup!
