Did I read that correctly? If so, what a great double bill - if not, I'll go back to sleep...

Absolutely Danny. We're working on a tour together for the spring. Denver is just the first leg.
I'm really looking forward to it.
What big eyes you have grandma. (Do they tell the Little Red Ridinghood story in Australia?)

Hope your new year is shaping up great.

Yep, good Xmas/You Year, Robert N.: and howdy, Susanne! Bestarawl to ye!

Love Danny O'K's The Road - reckon you two will make a top class bill.

Long shot - any chance you touring UK/Ireland circa October 2012?

"All the better to enjoy your music with, my dear...!" (cackle, cackle) oops - that was the Wicked Witch of The West, I think...

Got me broom stick riders and ravenous wild animals mixed up there...

Oh well.

I'm sure Danny Harris can guess what my initial reaction was on reading this thread title!

To most Australians the name O'Keefe would be assumed to refer to this man. I can't think of an artist more different from Bob Lind, though I thought it was within the realms of possibility that they had performed together - Johnny O'Keefe did make a largely unsuccessful attempt to break into the U.S. market, and in those days I think concert promoters would put all kinds of artists on the same bill with no attempt to match musical styles.

Well, I was thinking he was going to New Mexico to paint sexy flowers and animal bones.

She was a wild one.

I'm so glad to see this post generating so much interest.
Not sure where to start. Yes, Susanne and Ed, Southern Cal. is on the Lind/O'Keefe agenda. Just finalizing some of the dates. Watch the Gigs Page. Naturally I'll be letting you all know the particulars.

As to the UK tour, Jill is working on that one too. If we can put it together, actually, October might be the best time.
So keep checking the Gigs.

Bob Numbers: I'm not familiar with Johnny O'Keefe but you surely must be aware of Danny's work. If not, get that schnozz to the YouTube grindstone and look at songs like "Magdelena" and "Pray for Me" and "Pieces of the Rain" and "The Road," all four of which are, in my esteem, even stronger than his powerful hit: "Goodtime Charlie's Got the Blues."

If you can find a song called "Just Like a Girl Again," listen to it. It's not on YouTube unfortunately but it's so great! It will tear your heart out.

Danny and I are so happy to be working together. As you point out, Mr. Harris, it's a natural bill. I'm crossing the days off my [brand-new] 2012 calendar.

Good going, Jeff. It took me 10 minutes to figure out how to make it play before I finally noticed the clearly stated "Listen to Audio" in full view on the left-hand side of the page.
I made the leap and clicked on the MP3 version.
Duh!
Thanks for finding it. It may not be his best. But it's my favorite.
"Oh these tender moments that we hang our dreams upon..."
How do you argue with a line that real?

Bob,

Indeed, how also do you argue with:

"We could make the old dreams new.
What a new year we could walk into..."

Two poets on the same stage in Denver...Mama Mia!

The name Danny O'Keefe meant nothing to me, but some of those songs are familiar. I have certainly heard "Goodtime Charlie's Got the Blues" before, and could probably have hummed the tune, but wouldn't have been able to name the singer. "Magdalena" also rings a bell.

good song - jazzy, not unlike some more recent Lindness...

As for Johnny O'Keefe - boy, did he wow this ol' isle late '50's/early'60's...!

Had this huge voice - as strong as Jim Morrison, I'd dare to suggest...

Hmmm...October?

(cups chin in hand, a la Laugh In character: 'very interesting'...)
