Which track is the "unexpected" one?grant wrote:Holden Colorado... you mean the little car?
They're rather rare on this side of the planet, but I've seen them.
Really curious what people make of the "unexpected" track.

For me, it's "You, Lola, You!" Kind of predicated on a twist, you know.

Not sure what you mean by that.grant wrote:For me, it's "You, Lola, You!" Kind of predicated on a twist, you know.
As for the song, well it's amusing, not really a favourite on the album though.
I thought you were going to call "Bottle of Wine" the unexpected track. I actually like that more than I thought I would.

Bottle of Wine wasn't a surprise to me because Bob has been doing it live for so many year. He has turned it from a drunk's anthem to a sober person's look back on his/her regrets about the time spent drinking.

I mean it kind of starts out as one thing and then goes off on a meta-aware tangent in the bridge.

Did I forget to say that "Magellan Was Wrong" title track played on ABC Radio in Australia a week or so back...evidently a Lind fan by name of Barbara pestered the DJ until he played it...
I caught the strains when channel hopping...DJ described song as "clever and cute" and made reference to Lind being "back in a big way..."
But, then , as this country shot Elusive Butterfly up to No.1 on its charts, maybe not surprising...
BTW, Holden Colorado is one of those slightly larger 4 wheel drives (SVU or SUV, in USA?)...always reminds me of Homer Simpson's "Canyonero"...LOL
Work provides me as I have to access terrain eg landfill, tips, water treatment plants, etc.

From "trusty Morris Minor" to "shaky Chevrolet" to "Holden Colorado."
Come to think of it, Holden Colorado sounds like the sort of car you might expect to appear in a song by Bob Lind.

The name "Holden Colorado" also has a kind of country-music wordplay feel to it - like "Luckenbach Texas."
I think there might be something there, sure.

Ha ha.. I see I said "SVU"...
Would that be "Law and Order: SUV", dealing with motor vehicle related homicides?
( Oh, grow up, Harris...)
