AOL users! Read this!

Right now, we seem to be having trouble getting AOL users logged on to the board. I'm hoping to fix this this weekend. UNTIL THEN, you may have some success if you do the following: 1. Dial up/sign on to the internet using AOL just like ordinary. 2. Minimize the AOL window. 3. Open another browser: ...

Re: A New Link ?

Hi Bob/All. Am I alone, or could we use a link here to get us back to the Bob Lind Home Page? Actually, if you look under that "the Bob Lind messageboard" graphic on the main forum page, you should see a tiny link that says "Click here to return to BobLind.com". It's pretty smal...

I'm a pathetically unoriginal soul: Look at all the Gnarls Barkley covers! Quite like the Twilight Singers' one. And I always have a soft spot for Cat Power, but I realize others often don't appreciate her (although she really doesn't normally sound quite like that, more like this ). Nelly Furtado's...

Luckily, The Rock lives nearby in Davie and, well, has a thing for enforcing public peace now that he's a respectable actor....

Anyway, was anyone else at the latest coffee gallery show? How'd it go?

Lind has asked me to post the following review: http://crimefilenews.blogspot.com/2007/02/bob-lind-gave-his-fans-magic-tonight-in.html Despite the crime-oriented nature of that blog (it's by a Libertarian P.I./cop), there's no mention of Biggie Smalls, Tupac or the Crips/Bloods, East Coast/West Coas...

That "I'm Wearing You" is a fine song, yes.

So there wasn't any East Coat/West Coast trouble at the show?

Bob's like a lightning rod for all that crazy chaotic stuff. Freestyle rhyme battles in the middle of sets, all of that.

Gong Xi Fa Cai!! On this, the first day of the Year of the Pig, I have received tidings from Lind. He's in California. He says he can talk more once he's back home, but he's "pretty talked out on the subject of Jack." You can learn everything you want to know about Nitzsche over at http://...

Aaaand, the spammers started up again. Almost immediately. I haven't turned this back on yet -- I added a new modification, though, that should disable Guests from posting URLs (which is what spammers do -- the actual content of spam is URLs, or web addresses). So if you catch a few weird new topics...

Ah. OK. I think I've found the problem. I've switched this back *on*, using an older system. It should work fine, though.

On the heels of the not-exactly-the-same confirmation code thing described here, I've turned off image verification for unregistered posters.

Call it an experiment -- if we don't get hit by a wave of spam or some other tragedy, I might just keep this one off.

Common (ex) problem: Confirmation code for new users

OK, I just realized that this most recent board upgrade added a really nifty little security feature -- a "confirmation code" that you have to type in to register as a new user. Only thing is, for some reason, the code itself -- the little visual file -- isn't showing up, so new users can'...
