Re: The new Lind album
Wow! Number 5 and ahead of Arlo Guthrie, Richard Thompson, Randy Newman and Carole King! Looks like Bob's gonna have a hit on his hands and we can all say we knew him when ...

Re: "San Francisco Man"
Then there are Luddites like me who just went INTO a Best Buy store and pre-ordered the cd. No muss, no fuss, no credit card number floating randomly about the internet. Re: "San Francisco Man" - Hmmm, that might actually make an interesting cover .... "don't feel sorry for the guy, h...

Re: The new Lind album
Peter Allen's "Somebody's Angel" is a good choice. I remember you saying how much you liked it 'way back in the Bla Bla days, and since I had (still have) that album, I thought you had (still have) excellent taste! I'll bet your Aussie fans will be surprised to have a representative from d...

Laurel Canyon
I just came across a new (well, published in 2009) book, Canyon of Dreams by Harvey Kubernik. It's quite interesting, has many pictures including quite a few by Henry Diltz, and there are even a couple of references to Bob Lind! There's a photo of Bob posing in front of a wall full of guitars (was t...

Re: The new Lind album
...Or my personal favorite "She Can Still Get Along", but seriously, my guess is that this new cd may have some leanings towards jazz. The suspense is killing me!

Re: LIND COVERS
I just became aware of another Elusive Butterfly cover! I am looking at a picture of an album cover for Lennon Sisters Today!! (For those not growing up in the USA in the 50's and early 60's, the Lennon Sisters were on the Lawrence Welk show and definitely not related to John Lennon!) The cover list...

Re: Verve Album??
I haven't heard the Donovan's take on the song, but the Judy Collins version still gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it, even after all these years. (and I mean that in a good way!)

Re: Bob at the Coffee Gallery Backstage 1/18
John, May and The Laughing Song are both tunes that Bob used to perform back in the '80's as well. As much as I love hearing the new songs, the old ones never fail to send me back down memory lane to what were 2 eras in my life when I was going through a lot of changes and experiences. I was a teena...

Bob at the Coffee Gallery Backstage 1/18
OK, I suppose you want to know about Bob's triumphant return to Southern California and stellar performance at the Coffee Gallery. Briefly, it was great! Bob performed some old songs (How the Nights Can Fly,EB), some more recent songs (Perspective, Gravity of the World) and some wonderful musical su...

Re: The Documentary Is Out!
If any of you have not had the chance to see Bob perform live recently (or ever for that matter), you HAVE TO get the "Perspective" dvd. It's the next best thing to being there in person! I was lucky enough to be present when the concert portions of this video were taped and the performanc...

Love The Way You Lie
Yikes!!! The current #1 itunes track is "Love The Way You Lie" by Eminem. (I'm assuming it's not the song that we all know and love by Bob Lind, but I'm not going to actually LISTEN to the Eminem track to make sure!) Yo! Not!

Ha! That does give a whole new interpretation to "Illicit Butterfly of Love" as another misheard lyric in the same song.

Topical Songs?
With all the earthquakes (and other disasters) happening lately in Mexico, Chile, Haiti, etc., a song that has been on my mind recently is "Guatemala." Bob used to play this song when I saw him perform here in LA back in the '80's. As far as I know, this song has never been recorded, but i...
