Song book

Thanks Grant. I found it. (had to click on the Graphic to get there to get it to appear). Now, about those chords,? V. He he... I still have my copy of The Bob Lind Songbook, bought circa 1967, containing all the songs off Don't Be Concerned, plus Remember the Rain. No way am I going to part with i...

Circles and squares

If it's a love song from everyman to everywoman, couldn't it also be from everywoman to everyman? Or to the same sex, for that matter? The one thing I always wondered about that song was: why the references to circles? I guess the title means the same as "since the beginning of time", but ...

Re: CD Reissue of Elusive Butterfly/Don't Be Concerned

Sounds like great news that these cds are being reissued. I was lucky enough to get a copy the last time. I was just wondering if there has been any thought given to include Goodtime Special, Goodbye Neon Lies and We May Have Touched on this newest re-issue, since these are songs from the same time...

That f**ing tambourine

Yes, it would be great to have those on an official CD, as opposed to only vinyl/CDR. But even if this has the exact same tracks as the 1993 Best-Of, I'll still buy it. ACE has an amazing reputation. Their Dion and Lee Hazlewood discs are incredible sounding. Plus, while the 1993 Best-Of remixes so...

Suggestion re previewing messages

If there were one improvement I would make to the board, it would be that when previewing a message I get some sort of visual cue that what I am looking at is only a preview, it has not yet been submitted. I cannot count the number of times (on this board and others) that I have composed a lengthy p...

Lindisfarne

Hey D.S., Again, thanks for your interest and for your kind words. Honored to be in the company of Gordon Lightfoot -- whose name always seems to precede mine in the folk rock book glossaries. I think "Beautiful' is a masterpiece. Stay with us. yers, Bob This comment from Bob about Gordon Ligh...

West Coasters waiting

Finally, after almost 20 years, I’m coming back to play the Los Angeles area. And I can’t wait to get at you sun-baked West Coasters! The only problem is, it's the west coast of the wrong continent. The right one is located in the southern hemisphere between the Indian and Pacific oceans. It's call...

Pure magic

I have listened to this song a thousand times... but when I started this video it brought back the way I felt on hearing this song the very first time back in 1966. I do not care that the sound quality was crap (well at least it's crap on my computer's internal speaker) ... I do not care that the im...

Girl, You'll be a woman soon

I was listening to Urge Overkill's cover version of Neil Diamond's "Girl, You'll be a woman soon" recently and noticed, not for the first time, how different it is from most of Diamond's compositions and how much it sounds like a Bob Lind song. If memory serves me correctly, the song came ...

Patti Page

I don't think I have heard Patti Page do Butterfly, but I seem to remember her doing a very good rendition of Gentle On My Mind. Come to think of it, is there anyone who HASN'T covered that song?

Check your directions Bob

Errr... just to clear up any confusion--- UK and Australia are on opposite sides of the globe. Turn left, make sure you cross the BIG pond, not the little one! :D You won't find many shrimps on barbies in the UK. Not many here either for that matter, they are largely a myth generated by that great c...

Says who?

I think the "ultimate collection" has an improved audio quality :-) and sound better than my "You Might Have Heard My Footsteps" Cd Bye Steve I feel that on matters like this it's best to take statements like this with a grain of salt when they come from someone speaking as &quo...

Net nannies

As to the blurb on that Steve Hoffman page. The guy took my words verbatim but I don't know what those three asterisks are about (pain in the ***??!!) What are we in Sunday school here? I sent him a followup e-mail asking him to either leave it as I wrote it ("Pain in the ass to work with"...

"The Ultimate Collection"

To call any CD the "ultimate" Bob Lind collection that does not contain "It's Just My Love" is just laughable. A shame really, because otherwise the album seems to represent good value for money. Still I would almost consider paying the extra US$30 or so for the Footsteps album t...

Commercial success for STWC?

Inasmuch as Circles was the least commercially successful of Bob's early album releases, it would surprise me if the rerelease generates a lot of interest from anyone but his loyal fanbase. One of the other 2 albums might have stood a better chance, but I imagine there were reasons to do with copyri...
