Re: The Sixties

A local community radio station has a weekly program called "Woodstock Rock". Last week's playlist gives you an idea: Freedom - Nobody Traffic - Paper Sun The Open Mind - I Feel The Same Way Too Ashton Gardener & Dyke - Rolling Home Mandrill - Mandrill Iguana - Power of Love Joan Baez ...

Re: What are you listening to lately?

I have a heap of Jimmy Webb albums that I have not heard for years because I don't have a turntable for playing vinyl. Recently I discovered that most, if not all, his albums are available to listen to on Spotify, so I have been enjoyi8ng: Words and Music Letters Land's End El Mirage At some stage I...

Re: What are you listening to lately?

I borrowed the 2003 edition of Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield from the local library. I have never listened to this in its entirety before; I have heard many times the well-known bit where he introduces all the "instruments" one by one, and while the theme itself is nice, the repetition al...

Re: What are you listening to lately?

Been listening lately to some albums by No-man. No-man is a duo consisting of Tim Bowness and Steven Wilson, the latter better known as the frontman for Porcupine Tree. The music is mostly rather different from Porcupine Tree, though occasionally one hears points of crossover influence. No-man's ear...

Is it really a wolf, or just a sheep in wolf's clothing?

Re: Bob Lind in London

Many thanks Grant - tickets duly purchased. But will my friends want to visit the Slaughtered Lamb? Sometimes I wonder.... It's not the most appealing name for a venue is it? Sounds more like somewhere you'd go to hear punk rock or thrash metal. "Luna Star" or Perth's "Fly By Night&q...

Re: Elusive Butterfly et al.

My memory insists that when EB was going strong, Bob made an appearance on one of those network teen TV shows, possibly Hullabaloo, Shindig, one of those. The "Music" part of this site used to have a link to a clip of the episode in question, but the Youtube account has been terminated. M...

Re: What are you listening to lately?

Been continuing with my Joni binge.... as well as Ladies of the Canyon, listened recently to Dog Eat Dog, Hejira, Court and Spark, and The Hissing of Summer Lawns. Some of Dog Eat Dog is forgettable. The other albums mentioned are a joy from beginning to end. I also have Don Juan's Reckless Daughter...

Re: Elusive Butterfly et al.

Yes. Lind2 is me. I was speaking relatively. Just surprised to see it on YouTube. I don't think I said "never heard it." If so, it was one of those rush-rush typos. I think I said hadn't heard it in years (this recent posting notwithstanding). At least that's what I meant to say. Good tha...

Bob Numbers you are absolute aces! Taking the time to do this and caring enough to make sure you got it right! Wow. I will check through the lyrics you posted when I get a chance, but I didn't want to delay a moment in thanking you for your obvious care and passion for my music. I'm so fortunate to...

Re: Bob Lind info on LyricWiki

I have just finished entering the lyrics to most of the Circles album: http://lyrics.wikia.com/Bob_Lind#Since_There_Were_Circles_.281971.29 I'd be appreciative if some of you would have a look and check. Feel free to correct my mistakes. There are a couple of places where I cannot make out the words...

Re: What are you listening to lately?

Recently picked up Joni Mitchell - Ladies of the Canyon, to replace my old cassette copy. The well-known "Big Yellow Taxi" is possibly my least favourite track on the album, though still a good song. "Conversation" is probably my favourite, and indicates the more jazz-oriented dir...
