Re: Lind interview: Pale Blooms and Beyond

I always love reading these interviews with Bob. I always learn something new about his life, feelings and work. Very glad to hear you are interested in doing a new CD, Bob. I was wondering, reading the interview, if you found you interactions with publishers as unpleasant as your dealings with big ...

Re: The 2009 European Tour

Bob, first I want to welcome you back to the States. Delighted to hear the tour was so successful. Second, I'm curious to know if it was successful enough that you has any insight yet into whether a new CD is likely to come out of it. I know it's probably too early for you have to decided anything--...

Re: The 2009 European Tour

Since I am stuck on this side of the Pond, and too old to swim across it, I am hoping that the chicken will indeed hatch, and a new a live CD born. There are a lot of new songs which are not on the Luna Star Cafe, so there is no dearth of fresh material. Have a great trip Bob.

Re: ANNOUNCING THE RELEASE OF BOB's FIRST NOVEL

Nope, Bob 32...or are YOU really Rob 68??? (LOL) No, actually I think Bob 32, Rob 68, and our own Bob Lind are one and the same (this is getting complicated!) Anyway, I appreciate Danny's remarks about my review, his review of my review as it were (whoops, it is getting complicated again lol.) Yes,...

Re: ANNOUNCING THE RELEASE OF BOB's FIRST NOVEL

My first reaction to East of the Holyland was surprise at its style. If anyone knows what he is doing with words it is Bob Lind, so I knew his method was anything but inadvertent. There is plenty of inventive and vivid language in the novel, but it seemed to come in spurts; in between the prose stru...

Re: Two new write-ups!

I love these interviews. I always learn something new, no matter how many I read. Bob's answers are always so well-phrased. Most people couldn't express their thoughts so well if they spent hours thinking about how to explain them.

Re: ANNOUNCING THE RELEASE OF BOB's FIRST NOVEL

Well, today I finally ordered the novel. What with having to pay Uncle Sam back an unexpectedly large sum and other exasperating expenses, I had to postpone making this long-awaited purchase. Now it's in the hands Lulu and the mailman. Incidently, Bob, when did you write the book? You may have menti...

Re: New Demos: 2008 Songs

Danny--I guess we are both in the Lion's Den--after all we are both named Daniel, lol. Now that's Bibilical! But as the song says, "don't be concerned"--I always appreciate your comments even if i approach things from a different perspective.

Re: New Demos: 2008 Songs

These new songs blow me away, especially "Somewhere in the City" and "Sounds like Goodbye to me". The lyrics are among the best Bob has ever written--maybe the best. How intimately i know the feelings behind both. As far as "The Saints had it Easy" goes, how on earth do...

I'm going to wait for the regular print version. Large print annoys me, and I don't want anything to detract from my enjoyment of the novel--I've waited a long time for this. A few extra weeks won't hurt me.

I think the shorter version of Butterfly is vastly superior to the longer, not just because it is more compact, but because it combines exactly the right words which give the song its singleness of effect. The long rendition would still have been resonant and interesting, but it's magic would have b...

Wow! Wonderfully said Jeff, and I know your sentiments echo the feelings of all of us. Elusive Butterfly made an indelible impression on me as well, in exactly the same ways. I found this site about 3 years ago and have been able to hear almost every song Bob ever recorded. The quanity and variety a...
