Bob Lind Bio |
|
About Bob Lind:In 1966 he helped launch and define folk rock, writing and singing the groundbreaking megahit “Elusive Butterfly.” It began an illustrious career as a songwriter that continues today. His songs have been recorded by over 200 quality artists (!!) with a vast variety of styles. The list includes Cher, Aretha Franklin, Eric Clapton, The Kingston Trio, Dolly Parton, The Four Tops, Nancy Sinatra, Richie Havens, Johnny Mathis and Glen Campbell. But nothing equals the experience of watching this dynamic performer deliver his own songs. Here’s what the industry has to say about him: “As powerful an experience as I’ve ever seen a man alone with a guitar deliver in all my years owning the Luminaire! He got three encores and no one’s ever had more than one – and we have three bands a night, seven nights a week.” -- John Donnelly, owner of the prestigious Luminaire in London, England. (June, 2007) “From the moment he got onstage, Bob captured the audience and held them captive for nearly an hour with beautiful renditions of old hits as well as wonderful new material…. Accompanied by nothing but his acoustic guitar, his voice has gained power and maturity since the 60s. . .” -- Neil Martinson, promoter: Lind’s 2007 concert at the Knockout Room in San Francisco. “Bob Lind is the real thing -- a legend who can do legendary things on stage. . .” -- Bob Stane owner and manager of The Ice House and The Coffee Gallery Backstage (on Lind’s many appearances in the 60s and his most recent 2006-2007 concerts) “Bob held the (mostly young) audience rapt through a lengthy set. I saw several celebrities amongst the crowd, namely Meg White of The White Stripes . . . For weeks afterward people were thanking me for putting on the gig, telling me how great a time they had.” -- Ian Marshall, promoter of Lind’s 2007 LITTLE PEDRO’S show in Los Angeles. Internationally acclaimed filmmaker Paul Surratt is currently making a documentary about Lind’s life and work. Come see why this engaging poet/guitarist/philosopher/singer/wise-ass has endured in the sometimes-cruel and always-fickle music business for more than 40 years.
But come prepared to feel emotions you may not have let yourself feel in a while – feelings that may scare you a little.
His songs hit the heart like a wrecking ball!
